Records of the Wisconsin affiliate of the American Civil Liberties Union (WCLU), originally active during the 1930s, and reestablished in 1953 as a direct response to the abuse of civil liberties during the McCarthy era. Included are correspondence of the WCLU and of its predecessor, the Wisconsin chapter of the ACLU; organizational papers, minutes, financial records, activities files, subject files, and papers of WCLU member and general legal counsel, William Gorham Rice, Jr.
